The BC Supreme Court Self-Help Centre is a one-year pilot project. The centre is a response on the part of many of us in justice services who saw increasing numbers of people appear in court without representation. We formed a committee to create and support a self-help centre where legal information would be organized in one place. The centre opened in April 2005, making it easier for unrepresented litigants to get the legal services and resources that will help them better understand what they need to do.

The centre’s partners in this project are:

BC Courthouse Library Society

BC Court of Appeal

BC Supreme Court

Canadian Forum on Civil Justice

Community Legal Assistance Society

Department of Justice Canada

Law Courts Education Society of BC

Law Society of BC (observer)
