Victoria Law Day Access to Justice: Breaking Down Barriers

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 17, 2008) - Victoria Law Day takes place on Saturday, April 19th at the Victoria Courthouse. This well-attended event offers members of the public the opportunity not only to learn more about the law and the resources available within the legal community, but also to find out what the legal community can do for you.
Visitors to the event will be able to speak directly with representatives from groups like: the Administrative Justice Office, the Law Centre, and the Legal Services Society who will have exhibits displayed at the Courthouse on Law Day.
Other Victoria Law Day open house events include:
- A making-your-will skit based on the Three Little Pigs story
- A Harry Potter themed mock trial
- RCMP information sessions on Impaired Driving and Violence in Relationships
- Information sessions with Provincial Court and BC Supreme Court Judges
- Victoria Police Department and Sheriff's Department demonstrations
- Courthouse tours of the resource rooms and jail cells
